Let’s be honest, if you’ve had a birthday in lockdown you’ve probably not been thrilled about it. It was my best friends birthday last week and because I couldn’t spend it with her or even celebrate it with her, I wanted to give her a special lockdown birthday surprise.
I have to admit, it took me a little while to decide what to treat her too. However, my best friend is a makeup lover just like me so I thought it would be a really nice idea to treat her to a few lovely bits which she can have a play around with during lockdown.
It took me a while to decide what brands to buy from, so I looked at some of my own favourite makeup products and decided Charlotte Tilbury would be the best brand to go for!
As I wanted to get her something special I was instantly drawn to the Limited Edition Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette. I love this product as it includes a perfectly sized bronzer and highlighter, which are so lovely to use. I also thought it was super nice to have the version that is embellished with Swarovski crystals and comes with a mini version of the Powder and Sculpt Brush (which is amazing for applying this product!).
The next product I wanted to get her was the Instant Look in a Palette in Gorgeous, Glowing Beauty. I thought I would be really nice to have a palette than has everything in one. This palette in particular has really wearable, versatile shades which I thought would be perfect for day to day wear as well as for evenings out (when we are allowed again!).
As I had chosen a couple of face products, I thought I would also go for a little lip set. Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are some of my favourites and what I thought would make a really lovely gift. I went for the really popular Pillow Talk shade in a lip liner and lipstick set. It’s such a beautiful colour which I thought would be perfect for the sunny weather.
To finish off the gift, I thought it would only be right to finish off the look with a Full Fat Lashes Mascara. I haven’t personally tried this mascara but I’ve heard such great things and thought it would go really nicely with the Instant Look in a Palette.
To make this gift extra special I also ordered the Charlotte Tilbury gift box. I thought this would be a really nice extra touch for a lockdown birthday! As well as this I also got her some little treats to enjoy at home – gin, sweets and flowers!
Having a lockdown birthday might not be ideal but there are definitely different ways to make it special for your loved ones! You could also have a little Zoom catch up so that you get to chat with your family/friend on their special day and have a little drink to cheers too!
