My April Makeup Favourites

I haven’t written a makeup post in quite a long time and I’ve got a few new bits that I am loving. So I thought I would share some of my April makeup favourites. I’ve got four makeup favourites to share from Huda Beauty, Hourglass, Laura Mercier and Charlotte Tilbury.

April Makeup Favourites

The Nude Obsessions Medium Huda Beauty Palette

The first thing you may have noticed is the new palette by Huda Beauty. I love Huda Beauty, especially the palettes and have quite a few in my collection already. However, just before Christmas the Nude Obsessions palettes were released and I was really drawn to the medium one.

Although I have quite a light skin tone, I much preferred the richer, warmer tones of the medium palette. It has nine different nude shades within it: four are shimmer shades and five are matte shades. I find this palette so versatile as it’s so easy to create different looks which can definitely take you from day to night.

As per the Huda Beauty palettes, the shadows are easy to wear, blendable and leave little fall out when applying your makeup. The colours in this palette make it so wearable and it is definitely my favourite go to palette at the moment! I also think for £27, it is quite a reasonable price for a higher quality palette.

Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara

The Hourglass Mascara is a product I have really wanted to try for such a long time, however could never really justify spending £29 on it. However, I was gifted it for Christmas but having tried it, I would definitely repurchase. This mascara is game changing.

Personally, I’m not someone who likes a big fluffy mascara wand. I prefer something that is slightly more slimline and has the ability to coat every lash – which this mascara does. I find this mascara is really good at lengthening and thickening as well as defining each lash. I like to wear lash extensions, so when I don’t have them on this is such a great alternative.

Hourglass are quite a high end makeup brand and you can tell by the packaging of this product, that that is true. The casing of the mascara is quite heavy and feels a lot nicer than some of the plastic packaging lots of other mascaras come in. It feels quite special using this product because of the packaging and I love the triangular prism shape.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

The Laura Mercier Primer is a product I started using towards the end of last year. I used this product once and knew it was going to be firm favourite in my makeup routine. Wearing a primer is important to me as I find it smooths out my skin before applying foundation (hint is in the name of this product!).

This product is unlike any other primer I’ve used before. It’s lightweight, smooth and cooling and applies really easily without feeling heavy on the skin. It’s water-based, which I think helps it apply really easily as you don’t have to drag it around your face. Its silicone feel helps create a smooth, flawless base. I especially like using this primer when my skin is slightly drier because it is super hydrating. I would definitely repurchase this product even at £30.50 because you only need a little amount per use.

Makeup Favourites

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Lipstick in Glowing Jen

The last product I want to mention is one of the Hot Lips 2 lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury in Glowing Jen. I love a lipstick where it is like your lips but better. This lipstick is described on the website as a tawny rose colour and I would 100% agree. It’s such a rich nude with a hint of pinkness and just looks amazing on. It’s definitely the colour I was missing in my lipstick collection.

I find this lipstick so wearable as it looks lovely but isn’t too garish. It’s very creamy and the shape of the bullet makes it super easy to apply. I love this colour because I find the pink in it really brings out the warmth in my face. I often find nude/pink lipsticks are to light for me and end up washing me out – which this one doesn’t!

I also absolutely love the packaging, the leopard print makes it feel a little fancier and I think it adds a bit of sass and fun! Although the lipstick is £28, Charlotte Tilbury products are known for their top quality products.

Makeup Favourites

These products are definitely some of my makeup favourites at the moment and help me to create a flawless, natural look with all the nudes! I know I will repurchase all these products when they run out.
