I thought today I would do a little gift guide (ish) type of post on some products I received for Christmas last year. From the title of the post you can probably see that I am going to be talking about Kylie Cosmetics make up by Kylie Jenner.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetIm all about an autumn/winter make up look so when these products got released I knew I had to get my hands on it at some point! I was lucky enough to receive:

The Burgundy Palette

Metal lip in Dancer

Leo Lip Kit

Mary Jo K Lip Kit

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI’ve wanted the burgundy palette ever since it was released and last Christmas I finally got my hands on it. It is the perfect autumn/winter palette in my opinion with all the red orange and brown tones. I also think these colours work really well with my blue eyes. When I got this palette I used it immediately to create a Christmas Look and my god this palette did not disappoint. The eyeshadows are very creamy and the fallout is not to bad (compared to the modern renaissance palette anyway!) and the blend really well.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe colours in the palette are called:

Naked (satin finish golden sand)

Beach (matte finish light warm brown)

Penny (matte finish red orange)

LA (metallic finish true copper)

Burgundy (matte finish bright red burgundy)

Dubai (metallic finish burgundy)

Brick (matte finish dirty brick)

NY (metallic finish warm bronze)

Almond (matte finish deep red brown)

I particularly love the colours Dubai, Brick and Burgundy, however I pretty much use every colour because they are all so pretty!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI received Dancer metallic lip and I was overjoyed. Although it was a little out there for me, I knew I would get a lot of wear out of it over the festive period (yep it’s going to be out in full force this Christmas!). The colour is a red wine colour with metallic running though it, effectively it looks glittery on the lips. It doesn’t however feel grainy or glittery on the lips, rather it drys down nicely and lasts a relatively long time. This product was originally released as a Christmas special but is now part of the core metals collection, so you can still get your hands on it! and I mean I just love the name as well.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe next lip kit Leo complete with liquid lipstick and lipliner, I bought myself for my birthday last year because funny fact my birthday is the same day as Kylie’s although I am a year older. I really wanted the Leo lip kit because I loved the colour and the name is my star sign so it was a win win! Leo is a true deep burgundy colour and does come out a lot darker than the tube appears. I love this colour but after seeing how dark it appeared on my lips I usually stick to wearing this in the evenings rather than as a day time colour. The lipliner applies creamily, although it is very hard to sharpen (anyone got any tips?) and the colour dries down nicely and not patchy. This one does come off a little quicker than dancer but i’m not sure if thats the formula or the fact my lips dry out quite quickly.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe final product is the lip kit in Mary Jo K that also comes with a liquid lipstick and lipliner. This product is a true blue red (as stated on the Kylie cosmetics website) and I find that this colour is a very bright red, which was exactly what I was looking for. Again the lip liner applies nicely and the liquid lipstick dries down on top. I love this colour as it adds a pop to any outfit and I can definitely see why this lip kit is often sold out.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetOverall I love these products and think they would make get Christmas presents for the make up lover out there or even just for yourself! One think I would say if you’re ordering from the UK is be careful of extra shipping costs when the product arrives. You pay shipping when ordering from the Kylie Cosmetics website but can sometimes get caught with a shipping fee. When I ordered the Leo lip kit I didn’t have to pay extra customs but when ordering the other three products I was charged an extra £20 in customs, which is very irritating!

Anyway if you would like to buy any of the products mentioned they are linked above and I hope this blog post has given you some Christmas inspiration for gifts or even for different make up looks over the festive period!

We got the same things for Christmas last year! I love this palette – if anything, it has had more use since the autumn time! You can create so many different looks with it, and the colours have great pigmentation.

It’s definitely perfect for the holidays and winter season as it is quite dark. I love it though and agree the formula is amazing!

I absolutely love her products but I get what you mean. It does put me off when the products are pricey to start with and then I have to pay a customs charge!
