Rose Gold Makeup – The Obsession

Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with all things makeup – it’s no secret! I can spend hours putting on different make up and experimenting with it. I love makeup and I especially love getting new make up!

About a year ago I discovered Charlotte Tilbury, and in all honestly it is now one of my favourite brands. The first product I ever owned from the brand was a matte revolution lipstick in the colour glastonberry. It is a deep dark purple colour that is perfect for the autumn and winter months and looks best when paired with a subtle eye colour. This allows the lipstick to stand out when you wear it and not be overpowered. The only thing I would say is that because these lipsticks are matte they can be slightly drying, therefore I wouldn’t wear this lipstick continuously.

Since buying the glastonberry lipstick I have gone on to purchase the dolce vita palette, the filmstar bronze and glow palette in light to medium, the powder and sculpt brush and most recently the matte revolution lipstick in red carpet red. The products are all amazing in their own right and are definitely worth the money.

The filmstar bronze and glow palette is definitely up their with one of my favourite products (as you can tell from the photos!). I use the contour powder on a daily basis because it is the perfect shade for me. I like to use a contour that is subtle, for me less is more, and this powder provides more of a shadow on the face than an orange undertone and let’s be honest here no one wants that! I apply the powder to just below the cheekbones, under the chin and around the temples and top of the face using the powder and sculpt brush and then buff it out with a real techniques brush. The product blends in really well and looks super natural, which is exactly what I want out of a contour product! I also use the highlighter in this palette as it is very subtle and pretty, it is perfect for a natural makeup look.

Now onto the most recent product that I bought, the matte revolution lipstick in red carpet red. I chose to buy this product as one of my staple looks is a classic red lip. I already had a range of red lipsticks but because it was a bestseller and I love the glastonberry lipstick, I chose to purchase this one. In the tube this lipstick looks like a perfect deep red, something which you could wear day or evening, especially in the colder seasons.

I also have to talk about the Charlotte Tilbury packaging, I mean just look how beautiful it is! A mix of rose gold and night crimson, not only make the products stand out but also add a touch of luxury. Everything about this brand screams high quality.

In this blog post I also couldn’t not mention the amazing Zoeva brushes that I have been using. As I am a big fan of rose gold, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the rose gold luxury set volume 3 and when I did, the set did not disappoint. The set includes eight brushes that have a mix of natural and synthetic hair and comes with a black and rose gold brush clutch.

The brushes in the set include (as stated on the Zoeva website):

Face:
103 Defined Buffer: Apply and blend foundation
109v Face Paint Vegan: Contour and shape with liquid and cream products
114 Luxe Face Focus: Apply highlighter and powder
129 Luxe Fan: Apply highlighter and erase fall out
142 Concealer Buffer: Apply and blend Concealer and Corrector

Eyes:
228 Luxe Crease: Blend transitions to a seemless finish
234 Luxe Smoky Shader: Apply and blend eyeshadow for a smoky finish
317 Wing Liner: Apply eyeliner with the perfect flick

The brushes I use the most in the set are the 103 defined buffer which I use to blend in my foundation, the 114 luxe face focus, 228 luxe crease and the 234 luxe smoky shader. These are my favourite brushes because they are so soft and apply make-up in a way that doesn’t make it look like it has been ‘caked’ onto the face, no one wants that! I use these brushes almost everyday and they still look as good as new, they are also super easy to clean.
